Other Treatments for AIDS
For Managing HIV-related Cancers
People with HIV infection or AIDS are at increased risk of developing certain cancers. Recommended cancer treatments will depend on the type of cancer.
Treatments may include:
- Highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART)—to suppress the HIV virus and restore immune function
- Radiation therapy —to treat cancers related to HIV/AIDS
- Chemotherapy —to treat cancers related to HIV/AIDS
- Treatment of cancer-related anemia, wasting, bleeding, and seizures
