Background:

Allan Abbott, M.D., professor of clinical family medicine, practices general family medicine and is also certified in sports medicine. His clinical focus in on prevention of coronary heart disease, exercise promotion, and common sports injuries. As Associate Dean for Curriculum he has overall responsibility for the medical student curriculum of the Keck School of Medicine. He is also Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education and oversees Keck School of Medicine educational programs for practicing physicians in Southern California. He serves nationally with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and for the state California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) and Medical Board of California.
