Leksell Gamma Knife® PERFEXION™ at USC

The Gamma Knife PERFEXION, located at USC University Hospital, is a highly advanced radiation tool that allows us to treat brain tumors without an incision and with minimal effects on surrounding healthy tissue - a key aspect when working in such a sensitive area of the body.

A greatly improved version of the original Gamma Knife, which has been in use in hospitals all over the world since the early 1980s to treat brain tumors in a single visit, the Gamma Knife Perfexion makes the entire procedure more efficient and user-friendly.

At this time, the Gamma Knife Perfexion at USC/Norris Cancer Hospital is the only such device in Los Angeles County.
